Tour Info:

Birdmen Paragliding offers tour packages which vary from 3 days to 3 weeks with a maximum of 15 pilots
per week. We organise the entire trip - airport pick ups and drop off, motor vehicle hire & retrieve, B&B
accommodation (excludes lunches and dinners), updated weather forecasts, detailed site briefings, radio
assistance to thermal if necessary, and focus on making sure that you have optimum flying. A fixed itinerary
is not planned but is rather arranged around the prevailing weather conditions and pilot requirements. Tours
cover all Cape Town, Wilderness and Porterville sites. In and around Cape Town flying is usually done quite
early in the morning and then again in the evening.

On no wind days winching is provided. Pilots generally get to fly somewhere everyday unless it is raining or
is totally blown out. We recommend that pilots plan two weeks as this will allow them to fly most of the sites.
If pilots come for 1 week sometimes the Wilderness has to be foreighted. Tours run for 7 days and 6 nights.

On non-flying days we assist pilots in doing all the other "tourist things".

Tours are personally guided by Barry Pedersen.

All pilots are required to register with SAHPA and a three month temporary membership is mandatory. This can
be done through Birdmen Paragliding at R310. Pilots to arrange their own medical insurance.

All pilots must be flexible and have a spirit for adventure.
